ADVENT
Preparing the way for Christ
All children and youth are invited to an evening event/workshop
to explore the meaning of Advent. Join us on Friday Nov.
18th 5pm in the Parish Hall Carp, for a light supper and programme until
7:00pm. The programme will have activities and instruction for
all ages up to 12/13 years. Older youth are welcome to come and
help in making this happen and to earn volunteer hours for their
High School credit.
Be sure to pick up your copy of daily reflections for Advent called “Our
Light and Our Salvation” from the work of the well known
writer Henri Nouwen. Copies are available at each of the Churches
of the Parish by mid November.
2005 Christmas Basket program
Each year our Parish has made the annual Christmas Basket program
a priority. We are fortunate that many of the key people in making
this Basket program go are members of the Parish. One of the key
jobs is the administration of the program, tracking the requests
for assistance, generating the needs list etc. In the past our
Parish Administrator has done this function, but it is time that
we seek a volunteer to share in this task. It involves working
on the computer to track requests and helping to coordinate the
whole process. The volunteer will be working with highly confidential
information and will need to be available 1 - 2 hours a week during
December. If you are interested in exploring this area of ministry
please call Cathy Yocom our Parish Administrator for more information
at the Parish Office.

Loblaws Coupon Fundraiser - Please remember to purchase your coupons/gift
certificates today, or contact the Parish office to make other arrangements.
This is an opportunity to donate 5% of every dollar grocery dollar to our
Parish while buying your groceries, and it doesn't cost you a cent!

Sunday School - Our school is run by our congregation.
Corrie Robillard & Joan Currie oversee the school year and we ask that
parents consider sharing their gifts with the youngsters of the parish
through their involvement. Many hands make light work. In the past, workload
has been very light.
Sunday school classes are offered at both Christ Church and St. James
during the 9:30am and 11:00am services. Please remember that service times
rotate between the three churches (i.e. each church has one 8:30am service,
the following Sunday that church will have a 9:30am service, and the third
Sunday, they will have an 11:00am service. Sunday school is not offered
on Sundays where there is an 8:30am service. Children are asked to arrive
about 15 minutes before the service begins.
If you are able to join our ranks, please e-mail
the Parish office for further information.
