In 1819 John Cavanaugh settled from County Tipperary, Ireland, in the wilderness that was wooded Huntley. After nearly 20 years of perseverance, Mr. Cavanaugh donated the land on which Christ Church was built in 1838.

To this day, the Cavanaugh family sits in pew No. 1 on the south side of the church.

Christ Church remains the oldest original Church in the area, and worship within its walls offers an experience steeped in history.

From Highway 417 (The Queensway) at the Carp Road exit travel down the Carp Road.

Christ Church is the only church on the Carp Road before the village of Carp.

From Kanata along the March Road (Highway 44), turn left at the Carp Road intersection and keep on it until you see the church. Again, it will be the only church on the road until you arrive at Highway 417. For an excellent map to find the church simply click:
