Belonging to the Parish of Huntley means different things to each of
us. Our spiritual lives don't begin when we walk into church on Sunday
and they don't end when we leave.
On this page we try to offer a reflection of our parish life in an interactive
and useful way that extends beyond Sunday services.
We hope you will find something that suits your needs here.
FALL 2005
One of the new activities this Fall in our Parish, is an opportunity
to gather following the 9:30am service at Christ Church and St.James’ to
explore in more depth the Sunday readings. The group will meet at about
10:30am and end about 11:30am. One of the new members of the Parish Trevor
Tucker will be the facilitator for the group. The format is informal
and the hope is that this will give people an opportunity to become more
engaged in the scripture readings used week by week and to help all of
us make the connection between the readings and the challenges and issues
of daily life. Why not consider sitting in on the group starting Oct.
16th at Christ Church and bring your insights amd questions. For more
information please contact the Parish Office.
A note about the kids: Decisions about what to expose our children
to are among the toughest choices parents struggle with. Is it wise or
dangerous to protect our children from the influences of the outside world?
Whatever you have decided for your children, the Kids'
Zone and Teen pages on this website offer something
to bring balance to their exposure. You'll also find Internet Safety Rules
that we have defined to give them guidance. Please email
us if you know of other issues important to child safety that you would
like included.

Who teaches Sunday School?
Mothers and fathers from the congregation take turns teaching specific
classes (by age). There are no special requirements other than a love of
God, a love of children, and about one half hour of preparation time. All
Sunday school teachers also submit to a security check by the OPP.

Huntley Parish Sunday School is a relaxed and nurturing environment in
which children, aged 3-12 participate in age-appropriate crafts, activities,
and lessons from the Come And See Jesus curriculum based on the three year
lectionary. The children of the Sunday school are also able to take part
in special traditional performances such as the Christmas Pageant. The
children join their parents in Church just before the Eucharist and are
invited to participate as fully as possible in the remainder of the service.

Sunday school classes are offered at both Christ Church and St. James
during the 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. services. Please remember that service
times rotate between the three churches (i.e. each church has one 8:30
a.m. service, the following Sunday that church will have a 9:30 a.m. service,
and the third Sunday, they will have an 11:00 a.m. service. Sunday school
is not offered on Sundays where there is an 8:30 a.m. service. Children
are asked to arrive about 15 minutes before the service begins. See the
service schedules.

If you are interested in joining our group drop us a line. The contemporary
music group sings at every 9:30 a.m. service at Christ Church (see parish
service schedule). To join, email
us at the Huntley Parish.

Are you interested in participating in an activity group focused towards
singles? How about weekend play groups for single parents matching common
aged children. If so, we would like to help you start. Send us an email
with your ideas.
